Market Development Officer - Retail Group

Global Hydration specializes in water treatment solutions designed for a wide variety of end users and markets around the globe including remote industry, disaster preparedness, outdoor adventure and residential applications. Due to sustained business growth, we are seeking the assistance of (2) Market Development Officers who will be instrumental in driving the company through further growth. Both positions are long term, full time positions with an expectation for further promotion as the business grows.

  • Position #1 – Market Development Officer - Retail Group
  • Position #2 – Market Development Officer - Emergency Fee for Service Group

JOB DESCRIPTION:

The Market Development Officer  - Retail Group will focus on the development of Aquatabs water purification tablets within retail and OEM markets across North America as well as Global Hydration’s E-Commerce program (outdoor sport and adventure markets, residential water treatment solutions and emergency preparedness). The Market Development Officer will be responsible for developing and executing a program focussed on increasing Global Hydration’s market share, market penetration and expansion into new markets, meeting and exceeding quarterly sales targets.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development,  co-ordination, and sales of multiple product lines and channels
  • Manage customer relationships and accounts
  • Active development., management and expansion of existing e-commerce program
  • Market outreach to existing customers, clients, and associations
  • New product/industry research and assessment
  • Coordinate and lead marketing events (trade show participation, demo’s, etc.)
  • Active networking across a variety of social media channels
  • Development and execution of marketing strategies and campaigns
  • Provide input to overall company strategic development

KEY RELATIONSHIPS:

  • Retailer management for Aquatabs business, including Merchandising Managers, Marketing Managers, Buyers, Inventory Analysts, Training Managers, and store DM/GM

SUCCESS CRITERA:

  • Meet/exceed quarterly targets for assigned business
  • Deliver against return on investment expectations for designated programs
  • The candidate must possess a quantifiable track record of success managing and developing accounts. Also, be adept at developing relationships at the executive levels and able to react creatively to evolving situations and channel dynamics.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in marketing or sales, with progressive experience
  • Track record of roles in companies respected for leading edge marketing and channel development and strong brand and category management.
  • Proven leadership abilities and strategic mind-set.
  • Results oriented, with ability to effectively drive programs with retail partners.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and oral presentation skills.
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills.

ELIGIBLE APPLICANTS:

This position is partially funded by the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund*. Eligible applicants must be Northern Ontario secondary school graduates 29 years of age or under who recently graduated from an accredited college or university. Graduates from a high school outside of Northern Ontario who have resided in the North for at least one year are also eligible. Mature graduates may be considered.

*Global Hydration reserves the right to hire outside of the NOHFC contract should the most appropriate candidate for the job not meet NOHFC guidelines.
